Brendan O’Brien

Senior Principal

Brendan brings to DSI over twenty years of experience in the managed health care and life sciences industries, working and living in several countries globally through his career. He has thrived in steering organizations to success through uncertain environments, in executive management, marketing operations as well as strategic development roles. In his role at DSI, Brendan will leverage this experience to benefit new and existing clients by building organizational capabilities in robust business planning through future uncertainties.

Prior to coming to DSI, Brendan was Vice President of Strategic Planning & Analysis for North America for Sanofi, Inc. In this role, he introduced and implemented a strategic planning process utilizing scenario planning for the $10 billion pharmaceuticals business. Before this, Brendan worked with Pfizer pharmaceuticals in senior operational and strategic leadership roles in several countries of Europe. Among his achievements at Pfizer was earning the highest colleague engagement scores of any country managing director in Europe, and among the top three of all managers globally.

Brendan received his B.A. cum laude in History from Bowdoin College, and an MBA from London Business School, in London, UK, with a thesis of distinction in organizational behavior. He serves as a Member of the Board of Trustees of the National Braille Press, the premier publisher in the US specializing in producing original braille works written by blind authors expressly for blind people. Brendan also serves as a Strategic Advisory Board member for Provectus Biopharmaceuticals, a publicly-traded, development stage oncology and dermatology biopharmaceutical company.
